Ironman For Kids Fundraiser

(Update) Thankfully I was able complete the 50 km race. I finished in 16th place with a 5:21. Here’s the full race report.

  • Donate here, if the “Chipin!” button above isn’t visible or doesn’t work.
  • Please make your donation in the amount of $20.
  • Donations go straight to Ironman for Kids, a 501c3 nonprofit, and are tax deductible.
  • When 25 people donate $500 between now and Friday, 12/10/2010, then I will attempt the Texas Trails 50k ultra-marathon (31 miles) on Saturday 12/11/2010, 6 days after my marathon (26.2 miles).
  • When we make it to $500 by Friday, that’s not the end. The overall goal is 50 total people donating $20 each by the following Saturday December 18th, for a total of $1000.
  • (Update) Congratulations! You have helped me reach the midway goal of 25 donations in just 3 days! I am honored to race 31 miles this Saturday (12/11/2010). They will certainly be the most special miles I’ve ever run.
  • PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!

It has been an amazing first day. And it’s not quite over with yet… Also some people broke the rules and gave more than $20. I guess we’ll forgive them this time. :) I’d still like to stick with the number of donations (different people) goal of 25 by Friday, 50 overall. The extra money will just be icing on the cake. Let’s see if we can keep the momentum going tomorrow!!!!

keep the momentum going as well,….shall we say, like the momentum you will need on Saturday? :-)
and yes, it is all about getting people involved and coming together for a great cause–the more the merrier!

In ultra-running they say forward is a pace. I’ll probably need about 5.5 to 6 hours of “momentum” Saturday. Nothing compared with the challenges some people live with day in day out.
